The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, along with the Chief of the Territorial Delegation of the ONCE in Murcia, Pedro Salinas, presented this morning in the City Council Room the coupon of the National Organization of the Spanish Blind (ONCE) starring the Pilgrimage of the Virgin of Health, the hamlet of La Hoya next Saturday February 2.
Five and a half million coupons will spread this tradition throughout Spain.
The event was attended by the President of the Association of Mayordomos de La Hoya, Miguel Rosell, and the Director of the Agency of the ONCE in Lorca, and Ana María García.
The Mayor of Lorca thanked the ONCE for its special attention to the issues that have to do with our municipal area, and that this time focus on one of the most popular and popular celebration, and that every year brings together to more people in an enclave of singular natural attraction.
La Hoya has a social and associative movement with which the City Council tries to support as much as possible with the common goal of continuing to promote popular activities.
We must remember that ONCE has contributed to the national promotion of Lorca through the inclusion of images on its coupons, as it was on Christmas Eve 2015 with the Belenista Association, in 2012 with an image of the Huerto Ruano palace, as well as on July 19, 2011 with a snapshot of the beaches of Puntas de Calnegre.
The Pilgrimage of the Virgin of Health is celebrated on February 2, and many activities and popular games are held next to it.
The neighborhood accompanies the Virgin to the Sanctuary, which is located in the foothills of the Sierra de la Tercia.
The image is carried by thousands of pilgrims who take turns carrying the litter.
The day begins with a mass and then begins the Pilgrimage of the rise of the Image to his hermitage in the mountains where the Virgin of La Salud is venerated throughout the year, except for the days between the first Sunday December, the day that the image is downloaded to the Parish of the district, and February 2.
The route is about 4 kilometers, with two sections of special slope.
The journey is enlivened with Easter songs and regional dances, performed by the Cuadrilla de La Hoya.

Upon arrival at the Ermita de La Salud, there is a mass on the esplanade, after which the pilgrims spread around to enjoy different gastronomic products of the earth.
In the afternoon the Easter Songs are celebrated inside the Hermitage addressed to the Virgin of La Salud.
At nightfall the auction of a huge Tortada is celebrated, whose proceeds are destined for the annual maintenance of the Parroquia Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, as well as the Ermita de La Salud.
The ONCE Weekend Slenderness, every Saturday and Sunday, a main prize for the five figures and series of 300,000 euros, plus 5,000 euros a month for 20 consecutive years to a single coupon of the number and series awarded in the first extraction.
In addition, prizes of 2,000 euros per month for 10 consecutive years, to the four coupons of the numbers and series awarded in any of the extractions of the second to the fifth.
54 prizes of 20,000 euros to the five figures of the number awarded in the first extraction.
And prizes of 400, 200, 30, four and two euros.
The ONCE coupons and game products are sold by the 20,000 agents that make up its sales network.
Through the Point of Sale Terminal (POS), the customer can also choose the number that he likes the most.
