• It is an act that will be attended by the Mayor, Fulgencio Gil, who will be in charge of reading a manifesto.

All Lorca can leave their messages in a citizen mural made for the occasion.

The President of New Generations in Lorca, Pablo Robles, has informed that this organization is going to celebrate on Wednesday, January 3 from 5 in the afternoon in the Plaza de Colón, the Day of Peace, an act open to participation of all the people that will have the presence of the President of the PP Lorca, and Mayor of the City, Fulgencio Gil.

The president of NNGG explained that the event will include the reading of a manifesto that will be borne by the Mayor, and all those who attend will have the opportunity to participate in the making of a mural containing personal messages of peace that can be placed on a symbolic representation of the world ball, and a release of helium balloons will be made.

Pablo Robles has stated that in order to spread peace we must learn to avoid violence and commit ourselves to peaceful forms of conflict resolution in our day to day life.

Since 1964, to commemorate the death of Gandhi, the School Day of Nonviolence and Peace, recognized by UNESCO in 1993, is celebrated on January 30. On this date the need for education for tolerance, solidarity is remembered , respect for Human Rights, nonviolence and peace.

The motto of this day is "Universal love, non-violence and peace".

Universal love is better than selfishness, non-violence is better than violence and peace is better than war. '

We must educate in and for tolerance, solidarity, harmony, respect for Human Rights and peace.

We are talking about reasons to remember.

Education in and for tolerance, solidarity, harmony, respect for Human Rights, non-violence and peace are reasons to remember on January 30.

On this Day of Peace, schools commit themselves as defenders of peace and understanding between people of different origins and ways of thinking.

On that day is celebrated the anniversary of the death of Mohandas KaramchandGandhi, who received the honorary name of Mahatma ("big soul" in Sanskrit), led the non-violent resistance of India against British colonialism and became a symbol of peace.

This awareness-raising date arose from a non-governmental, independent and voluntary initiative of Nonviolent and Pacifying Education of the Spanish professor Llorenç Vidal in 1964, which was also later recognized by Unesco in 1993.
