Fulgencio Gil ratifies that the City Council will support each and every one of the actions that the victims of the Villaespesa Soterrada platform decide to undertake, and urges the Ministry of Development to demonstrate more sensitivity with Lorca.
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has announced that the municipality will require the Ministry of Development to commit itself in writing to include the allegations presented by the City Council and the residents grouped in the Villaespesa Soterrada platform with respect to the works in the Railroad layout.
I am with my people, with Lorca, and I can anticipate that we will participate in all the measures and acts that they have announced they could undertake if the current central government does not respect our interests.
The First Edil pointed out that "I am clear that what we do not get before March 4, which is the date when the tender for the works is closed, we will not be able to achieve it later. In supposed technical or administrative issues, I am not willing to take out new strategies to distract us, freeze the project a few months and then, when it suits them, put it back on the table and try to impose it by way of the facts consummated. "
What Lorca demands is that the Ministry commits itself in writing in the coming weeks, because time runs against us.
In fact, on March 4, the tender for the works was closed, and before then, the victims deserve to have a document that reflects their allegations.
Our support to the neighbors, in particular to the platform Villaespesa Soterrada, is total and you can count on us for everything, because here it is about Lorca, and when it is at stake the quality of life and the well-being of Lorca can not fit half measures .
After that date it will be almost impossible to stop the intentions of the current central government.
The allegations must be included already, because it is clear that the execution of the project as it is proposed, is seriously damaging for those affected and would constitute a nonsense for all affected districts.
What we are demanding is that we be treated the same as other municipalities, because we are no less than any other city.
For this reason we demand that the Government of Spain cancel the tender and introduce the allegations, which, unlike others, do not go beyond the approved route, nor would it imply an increase in the investment, nor do they entail any delay.
We are in time to correct a historical error, comparable to the one that perpetrated at the beginning of the 1980s closing the train lines that communicated with Granada and Almería.
We have seen leaders of various political parties tear their clothes because in Murcia a temporary walkway was built, even stopping the works and leaving us without AVE.
Now those same people who were clamoring in the capital have remained silent in Lorca.
We will not allow them to perpetuate such nonsense against Lorca and common sense.
It is not serious that it takes so long for this issue and they decide to tender the project without answering us, neither to us as City Council nor to the affected neighbors themselves, who will find walls of 16 meters high next to their houses.
The Mayor demands that the burial be clarified after the new doubts
Fulgencio Gil said that less than a year ago we closed with the Minister of Development, Ãñigo de la Serna, the burial of the railroad as it passed through the city.
Months later, the current central government paralyzed the project, and now go a step further and already begins to question the burying of the train in Lorca by a recommendation of the Court of Accounts of which, again, we had to find out by the media because the current central government is still not informing Lorca of what is happening.
The First Edil has stressed that I do not like anything how events are developing, I am seriously concerned with this issue, both with the background and by the non-respectful ways that are being with Lorca.
Lorca demands that the central government urgently answer the allegations and send information on the status of the "Informative study of the urban integration project and adaptation to high performance of the Railway Network of Lorca", taking into account the technical incidents that have been detected both in the Rambla de Las Señoritas as in the alternative of passing under the Guadalentín River bed.
All the news that arrive to us suppose a new blow against the interests of the Lorca.
We have been waiting for many months, at least, deign to respond to the allegations that we presented in May 2018 on the layout of the railway.
