The Town Planning Councilor of Lorca, Satur Martínez, and the president of the Association of People with Physical and / or Organic Disability of Lorca, ASDIFILOR, José Luis Llamas, have ratified this morning a collaboration agreement to develop the Plan of Accessibility for the municipality with the aim of improving the quality of life of people who have some type of disability.

Satur Martinez noted that "this project is part of the Action Plan of the Spanish Strategy on Disability 2014-2020 and Law 4/2017, of June 27, Universal Accessibility of the Region of Murcia, which falls to the administrations To develop a municipal accessibility plan and its respective actions, in this sense, and within our objective of promoting citizen participation, we believed that there was no one better than the members than ASDIFILOR to develop this Plan, because who better than the people who suffer some type of disability to translate the problems of accessibility they have in their day to day and try to find a solution.

The Councilor for Urban Development added that "the Local Government Board approved last Friday a collaboration agreement between the City Council and ASDIFILOR in order to implement this initiative in our city, the City Council pledging to monitor the Municipal Accessibility Plan and ASDIFILOR to promote, disseminate and carry out measures to improve accessibility and remove architectural barriers, as well as perform an audit of public buildings and training actions with which to obtain data to draft the Lorca Accessibility Plan. "

Martínez stressed that "our objective through the drafting of this Plan is to consolidate Lorca as one of the most accessible cities in the entire region." With the works of urban renewal that have been undertaken in the municipality during the last years we have achieved promote a new urban model that has made Lorca a better connected and friendlier city for all its neighbors and visitors, which includes, of course, people with reduced mobility, but we want to go a step further and consolidate ourselves as an example of accessibility , for what we are going to promote this new Plan ".

For the preparation of the Accessibility Plan of Lorca, from ASDIFILOR technical reports on urban accessibility and public buildings of the municipality, scales of attitude toward disability, personal interviews and work tables will be made with the aim of being developed in a choral and its results give answers to all the needs and demands of society.
