Before launching baseless accusations, of trying to tarnish the honor of the people and cause harm to their families, Antonio Meca should explain why having an exclusive dedication in the City Council for which he receives 3,400 euros per month in 14 payments that come out of the municipal coffers, is dedicated to selling guitars in the afternoons;

or what is the origin of its heritage -15 real estate between homes and commercial low- while declaring only an average balance of 1,500 euros in bank accounts;

or why there are several requirements of the General Security Treasury for non-payment in his name.

From Izquierda Unida-Verdes de Lorca we condemn the accusations made today at a press conference by Antonio Meca García, spokesperson of the Municipal Citizens Group, against Pedro Sosa, councilor of our formation in the City of Lorca.

It is outrageous that Mecca attempts against the honor of a councilor who is known for his honesty and for the impeccable service he renders to our municipality and its neighbors.

All in a sickly attempt to discredit this organization and its representatives for reasons that have nothing to do with this, but with a rental contract linked to the mother of Pedro Sosa, which was formalized before he was a member of the board of directors of LIMUSA for his condition as mayor of the City of Lorca.

A fact that was brought to the attention of the legal services of this company, which never observed incompatibility, conflict of interest, or any breach of its ethical code, something that Meca is aware of.

In spite of this, without any legal foundation, the municipal spokesman of Ciudadanos takes the clipped to shoot this time against Pedro Sosa, because he knows that damaging the public image of people is free.

From IU-Greens criticize the cynicism of Mr. Mecca, who should begin by explaining why having an exclusive dedication in the City Council -for which he charges 3,400 euros per month in 14 payments that come out of the municipal coffers- is dedicated to selling guitars for the afternoons;

"What explains what moral is behind an auctioneer, to take advantage of the economic hardships of families to fatten their assets, before pointing the finger at anyone."

It is not the first time that Mr. Mecca dispenses with the most elementary code of ethics to prey on councilors, officials and workers of municipal companies through accusations and incriminations, made with publicity, without foundation and that undermine dignity, good name and the honorability of these people.

Complaints that in some cases has been transferred to jurisdictional bodies that have proceeded systematically to file them.

Even so, Mecca persists in his desire to shoot at everything that moves because, as he himself has confessed, he will sometimes succeed.

Meanwhile, it does not matter who gets ahead or the personal and moral damage it causes.

Mr. Meca is disturbing the tranquility, good coexistence and harmonious work in some municipal services and within the Municipal Corporation.

And, most importantly, it is causing unnecessary personal and family suffering to those who become the target of their anger.

Neither the workers of his municipal group, to whom he has fired with a withering way when he thought it convenient, have emerged unscathed from his anger.

It is absolutely inadmissible that Mr. Meca use his public office to give free rein to an interested and peculiar righteousness against those who profess personal animosity, not politics, and whose payroll is uncountable already at City Hall.

It is especially abusive and disproportionate because those it attacks lack the media speakers for its defense that Mr. Meca does have at his disposal;

because they have nothing left to endure stoically, in silence, at the expense of their suffering and that of their families, their systematic threats.

We condemn that the desire of Mr. Meca to acquire public notoriety is at the cost of trying to defame and intimidate public officials and municipal workers and to tarnish his honor through a witch hunt, which we demand that he put an end to immediately.

And because we believe that a councilor was never so unworthy to hold a position of public representation, Izquierda Unida Verdes will request his disapproval at the next Municipal Plenary.
