The regional chief executive, Fernando Lopez Miras, yesterday closed the XXV Lorca Sports Gala, "a night of recognition deserved 22 prize-winners, 22 reasons of pride not only for Lorca but for the entire Region of Murcia," he said.
"All the winners are an example and a mirror in which to look at ourselves," said the president of the Community during his speech at the closing ceremony of this gala that was held at the Teatro Guerra de Lorca and where the prizes were awarded for the merits obtained in 2018 by local athletes.
López Miras put in value "the work of all those who make it possible for Lorca to shine in the sports field" and referred to athletes, clubs, companies that are involved in sports, organizers of events and sports journalists.
The president gave the award to the thrower of weight Úrsula Ruiz as the best absolute athlete in the female category, and who praised his "ability to strive to conquer his tenth title of champion of Spain and achieve, in addition, the classification for the European."
