The candidate for Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has demanded that Gil Jódar immediately order a reinforcement of security measures to maximize vigilance and solve the concern that keeps "in suspense" the residents of the hamlet of Almendricos, after a series of robberies have happened during the last days.

"It is intolerable that while the robberies continue, and the feeling of insecurity among the residents of Almendricos increases, Gil Jódar will be able to keep a local Police barracks closed in that same hamlet, closed down," said Mateos.

"It is clear that a change is needed, also in current security policies, because they are not being managed efficiently," the mayor warned.
