Its director has been Joaquín Bastida, and in its confection the students of the employment workshops have participated under the supervision of the Lorca embroiderers Ana Cazorla and Isabel Martínez.
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, along with the President of the Fraternity of Our Lady of the Gardens, Isabel Giménez, has encouraged all Lorca to participate in events organized for the Jubilee Time recently granted by the Bishop of Cartagena , José Manuel Lorca Planes, on the occasion of the celebration this year of the LXXV anniversary of the canonical coronation of the Patron Saint of Lorca.
It is an initiative that started from the parish priest of the Shrine of Our Lady the Real de las Huertas, Miguel Angel Alarcon, and the very president of the Brotherhood.
The First Edil has stressed that this is an extraordinary news that congratulates all Lorca and has made us deeply proud of the work developed by the Brotherhood.
For this reason I have the satisfaction of anticipating that the Virgen de las Huertas will premiere her new cloak made in the workshops of the City Council on March 17th, on the occasion of the opening of the Jubilee of our Patron.
Fulgencio Gil has explained that the design of this piece, made by Joaquín Bastida, is based on the first embroidery made in our city in the 18th century.
The dimensions of the work are 200 cm long and 175 cm wide, embroidered in a golden comb and silks, on a satin damask support.
Its realization has been carried out by the students of the embroidery training workshop, which have been directed by two magnificent Lorca embroiderers as has been the case of Ana Cazorla and Isabel Martínez.
The cloak has been embroidered especially for the Employer of Lorca by the students of the embroidery training workshop, belonging to the project "Young Employment Lorca" and is already in the hands of the Brotherhood.
The Mayor has emphasized that his particular conception endows the main fret with an ornament of transition style between the Renaissance and an incipient baroque.
The ornamental border is topped by a stole of stars that symbolize the Marian iconography, as it is an image of Gloria.
In the center we can observe the anagram of Mary, as a sign of the devotion that is professed to our Patroness, and in its top finish a delicate crown, as a symbol of its Royal character.
This environment is within a circle with twelve stars, symbolism par excellence of the images of Mary and Gloria.

To celebrate this anniversary of the image, which has enjoyed great devotion from Lorca since time immemorial, Bishop José Manuel Lorca Planes has decreed the celebration of a Jubilee Era with diocesan character, from March 17 of this year until on March 22, 2020.
The Bishop has asked the Apostolic Penitentiary of the Holy See for the concession of Plenary Indulgence for different days in the face of the commemoration of this Jubilee Time.
These days correspond to the celebration of the opening (March 17);
every Sunday of the month of May that the Church dedicates in a special way to the Virgin Mary;
on September 8 at the feast of the Virgen de las Huertas;
September 22 at the Eucharist on the occasion of the pilgrimage of the image of the patron saint of Lorca to the parish of Our Lady of Carmen of that town;
on November 26, the anniversary day of the canonical coronation;
and on March 22, 2020, in the celebration of the closing of this Jubilee Time.
In order to profit from the plenary indulgences (when they have been granted by the Apostolic Penitentiary), the usual requirements (Eucharistic communion, sacramental confession, prayer of the Creed and pray for the intentions of the Pope) must be fulfilled in addition to visiting the Parish-Sanctuary of Our Lady Real de las Huertas.
