An egalitarian march, a photographic show and the premiere of a short film.

The Councilor for Equality in the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martínez, has also presented the activities that will be held tomorrow March 8 on the occasion of International Women's Day.

The Department of Equality together with Iniciativas El Gigante has organized for tomorrow a party in the heart of Lorca, on Corredera Street, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

During the celebration of this act, several activities will be planned, aimed at promoting equality and the prevention of gender-based violence, and on the other hand, to promote a day of fun with young people, in collaboration with the Ramón Arcas Meca institutes. , Francisco Ros Giner and Prince of Asturias, as well as the schools Madres Mercedarias and San Francisco de Asís.

The activity that includes, as an opening, the reading of the Manifesto for the International Women's Day, will propose four zones of activities distributed along the Corredera street and will include in each one of them a striking activity and a Post of Adventure of Equality that invites reflection and analysis by the young participants on various aspects related to equality between men and women and the prevention of any form of violence against women.

It is worth noting that at 6:00 p.m. there will be the inauguration of the Exhibition of Works of the Course called "Photoshop Management" and the digital restoration of Old Images of Women in the Lorquina Society, which will take as a framework the Classroom of Culture of the Cajamurcia Foundation.

It is a sample that can be seen from 8 to 22 March and that collects 29 photographs of the 50 that have been restored during the course.

We are talking about an activity in which 12 students have participated, recovering photographs from the period between 1870-1943, works by José Rodrigo and Pedro Menchón.

The Institutional Act of March 8 includes the screening of the short film titled "Iguales".

It is a montage in which 16 students participated in the courses of the Popular University. We have to explain that during three alternate weekends, workshops on direction, production, script and interpretation were held before the camera.

The students finished the course with the shooting of the short film. Led the workshops Benito Rabal, who will participate in the event to present the short, and counted on the work of the company Lorca Syncroimagen.

The work deals with the theme of equality through a character who during a dream assumes the daily functions of his wife.

The activities will be completed with an egalitarian march that is scheduled to start around 7:30 p.m. and which, starting from the old convent of La Merced, will arrive in Plaza de España after traveling through the streets of Santo Domingo, Juan de Toledo, Corredera, Plaza de the Concord and Alfonso X. It is an activity to which the City Council of the city joins and to which we invite all Lorca to participate.

It is organized by the Federation of Women's Associations, the Youth Council, Lorca Feminista, Cazalla Intercultural and LGTBI Assembly, which make up the platform March 8.
