The councilor of Izquierda Unida, Gloria Martín, has asked the City Council of Lorca to increase road safety on the Camino de la Cruz, which runs through the councils of Campillo and Purias.
In this road, which has a significant volume of road traffic, several traffic accidents have already occurred, as shown by the existence of street lamps deformed by the impact of vehicles.
After the complaints expressed by neighbors of the area, Martin has been able to verify the high speed at which some cars circulate on a road that lacks sidewalks, which entails a considerable risk for the safety of pedestrians.
Therefore, they request that a traffic study be conducted in order to install devices to limit speed and prevent accidents.
Another important problem that afflicts this road is the zero visibility that affects the vehicles that must be incorporated into it from private homes, so it would be necessary to install mirrors at some points to avoid collisions and even pedestrians and cyclists.
Finally, Martin has also referred to the poor state of the road, which requires that it be resurfaced to suppress existing tunnels.
