The socialist councilor, María Ángeles Mazuecos, along with the number 4 candidate of the PSOE to the City of Lorca have reiterated their commitment to provide Lorca with study rooms 24 hours.

"It is time to give solutions to the students of Lorca, it is unfortunate that they have to go outside our municipality, in search of these rooms that do exist in other locations, such as Puerto Lumbreras."

In the words of Mazuecos, "we have hundreds of Lorca preparing for university exams and students, who will now come on vacation, who do not have these types of rooms."

From the Municipal Socialist Group we want to implement a municipal network of study rooms 24 hours throughout the municipality.

"We will try to locate them throughout the entire municipal area, both in the city and in the districts, which is one of the solutions for Lorca of the Sol Project", assured the mayor Nines Mazuecos.

In addition, the study room 24 hours would take an access either by fingerprint or by a card.

Nines Mazuecos has said that "he would not need more personnel, since security cameras would be placed, with connection to the Local Police."

Improvements in the study room of the Cultural Center

In this press conference, the candidate for councilor for the Socialist Party of Lorca, Irene Jódar, has echoed the shortcomings of the study room of the Cultural Center.

"It does not have wifi, there are not enough plugs, the furniture is very old and worn, and there is no soundproofing system," Jódar pointed out.

"Since it is a multipurpose space where diverse cultural activities are carried out, it is of vital importance to soundproof the room to benefit the concentration of the students", pointed out Irene Jódar.

This is a claim that the users of this infrastructure, students both from university, institute and opponents, have transferred to this Municipal Group.

Therefore, we demand the current government team to improve these facilities for the benefit of this group, which spends so many hours there.

The candidate affirmed that "within our 'Project Sol', in the education and youth field, putting in value and modernizing this space will be one of our priorities.We will adapt this study room, at the request of the users, when Diego José Mateos be mayor of Lorca. "
