An embroiderer and four mayordomas of the Lorca fraternities visit the School of Holy Week to Conciliate and Coeducate set up by the City Council (17/04/2019)

The program School of Holy Week to Conciliate and Coeducar, in which 36 boys and girls are participating, has the purpose of developing services to reconcile work and private life, covering the needs of children aged 3 and up. 12 years

The headquarters of the Popular University welcomes from last Friday April 12 and until next Monday 22 the School of Holy Week to Conciliate and Coeducar set up by the City Council.

The School of Holy Week to Conciliar and Coeducar program, in which 36 boys and girls are participating, aims to develop services in the municipality of Lorca to reconcile work and private life, covering the needs of children with ages between 3 and 12 years, enrolled in the centers of Early Childhood and Primary Education of the municipality.

These conciliation services provide the care needs of children, in part of the non-school periods, while their parents are working or receiving training for employment.

Among the activities that are being developed include the "Workshop on Women in the Holy Week of Lorca", which aims to make visible the contributions of women to the cultural heritage of our Holy Week, sensitizing children to be conscious and value their contributions.In addition, an embroiderer and four mayordomas of the steps White, Blue, Purple and Incarnate will also participate in this School to explain to the children the work they do in their brotherhoods.

In this sense, the participants are also developing a workshop to create a collage on the importance of Coeducation, Co-responsibility and Reconciliation;

workshop on responsibilities and shared tasks in the home and family;

storytelling workshop;

theater workshop to represent coeducational stories;

sewing workshop and costumes;

recycling workshop;

workshop of expression of feelings, as well as popular games (handkerchief, hide-and-seek, English duckling), and traditional sports such as football, basketball, involving both boys and girls, video library on issues related to equality and coeducation , in addition to an end of school party.

From the City of Lorca we consider it necessary to develop programs such as these "Schools to Reconciliate and Coeducate" since the reconciliation of work, family and personal life is valued as an essential strategy for the achievement of equality of women and men, in addition, contributes to achieve a new social and economic organization, where women and men can make compatible the different areas of their lives: employment, family and leisure and personal time.

This program is promoted by the Department of Equality of the City of Lorca and subsidized by the European Social Fund and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

In addition, also has the collaboration of the Department of Culture.
