A hundred children from the folkloric group Ciudad de Cartagena and Virgen de las Huertas Choirs and Dances will participate on Saturday at the IX Folklore Children's Show "Tío Pillo" (23/04/2019)

In the morning, at 10:30 am, the activity "Know your city" will be held, where children will visit the Calvary, War Theater, Plaza de España, Conservatory and Porch of San Antonio to know the rich monumental heritage that has our city

The group of choirs and dances Virgen de las Huertas has presented this morning the IX Folklore Children's Show "Tío Pillo", which will take place next Saturday, April 27 in our city and that pretend to be a day full of activities and that includes the ninth edition of the National Children's Folklore Show "Tío Pillo" in which the protagonists are the hundred students that form the Folklore School that titles this association ".

The goal of the Virgen de las Huertas Choirs and Dances is to always keep alive the figure of who was the founder of this group and the greatest folklorist that Lorca has given, Gabriel Gómez Martínez, better known as the "Tío Pillo".

For that reason, and with the collaboration of the City of Lorca, they organize for the ninth consecutive year in the Monumental Complex of La Merced and the Medieval Wall this sample that is growing year after year.

Among the activities that will be held on Saturday morning, and in which all children can participate Lorca, is "Know your city", a tour of Lorca whose purpose will be to value and show the little ones the rich monumental heritage that our city has. The visit will begin at 10:30 and will visit the Calvary, War Theater, Plaza de España, Conservatory and San Antonio Porch.

At night, at 21 o'clock, in the emblematic cloister of the old Convent of La Merced, the Folklore Children's Show will take place in which the Folklore Group City of Cartagena and the School of Folklore and the Youth Section of Choirs and Dances will participate. de las Huertas, both members of the Spanish Federation of Folklore Groups (FEAF).

The hostess will turn the show into a story, a story that changes in each edition and that this year is based on Snow White, adapted to the local cuisine, crafts and clothing lorquina with chants and dances of the municipality in which almost a hundred of Boys and girls will be the protagonists.

Note that this year the poster is a photograph by Alejandro Clemente Rodríguez, member of the Youth Section of Choirs and Dances Virgen de las Huertas, giving rise to new generations to face the responsibilities and get involved in the performance of the acts that organize this association.
