The work prior to the demolition of the former headquarters of the Police Station that will allow the rearrangement of Lope Gisbert Street and improve access to the parking of San Vicente (23/04/2019)

The work to be carried out prior to the start of the demolition of the building that housed the old facilities of the police station of the National Police are advancing at a good pace.

In fact, it has already proceeded to disconnect service outlets and supply supplies, as well as the withdrawal of connections, mainly wiring, which have presented more problems than expected, which has led to the need to carry them out with more care, using more time.

Since Monday, the building is being prepared, which includes, in the first place, ensuring the integrity of the adjoining buildings.

In the same way, the work related to the removal of the asbestos components present in these facilities is carried out, in accordance with current regulations and scrupulously complying with the provisions of the Law. In this task, work will foreseeably be carried out until the end of the same. week.

Iberdrola's electrical supply wiring present in the façade is also being removed throughout this day, as the City Council has done with the corresponding to street lighting.

The company in charge of the demolition has everything ready to undertake its work in the same moment in which the previous tasks are completed.

The Municipal Consistory decided not to undertake these works until all the acts that pass through the area subject to action during the Holy Week period culminated, in order not to interfere in any celebration.

This intervention brings with it the urban reorganization of this area of ​​the urban center to offer a solution to the substantial problems of those that suffers the confluence of the Plaza de San Vicente with Lope Gisbert Street, in addition to the access that presents the public parking of San Vicente .
