Gloria Martín, councilor of United Left-Green, has lamented that eight years after the earthquakes that devastated Lorca on May 11, 2011, thousands of families continue to suffer the consequences of a terrible management of aid for the repair of their homes , in many cases, it is causing "ruin" and "penury" in their domestic economy.

Martin has criticized that the regional government has not taken "not a single step" for the Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia to facilitate the return of aid to those affected who can not cope with a refund that must be add surcharges and interest that have increased the subsidy initially granted by up to 40%.

"It is indecent that victims of earthquakes have to pay up to 6,000 euros in interest and surcharges can prove with bills and technical inspections that spent every penny to repair their homes," said Martin.

The mayor of IU-Greens has asked the new delegate of the Government in the Region, Francisco Jiménez, to be interested in this problem and act as a "mediator" between the families and Pedro Sanchez who, by all accounts, will be reinvested as president of the Government of Spain.
