The candidate for Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has made public an ambitious battery of measures for the districts, as outlined in his SOL project, with solutions for Lorca.
"I am worried, and very much, the lack of opportunities suffered by our neighbors in the districts."

Mateos has announced its "firm and unwavering commitment" to launch, as of January 1, 2020, the regulation of Neighborhood and District Boards for neighborhoods and districts of Lorca, which the PP has been unable to apply during his years of government.
"Neighbors have to have a voice and a vote, be part of municipal management, they deserve to be able to decide on what to invest, based on their priorities, part of the budget allocated to their neighborhoods or their districts."
Similarly, Mateos is committed to recover the figure of territorialized budgets: "Neighbors must know what part of the budget goes to their parish, what and how it is invested in their deputation, and how it reverts to their pedanía the money that he pays through his taxes ".
Among the measures aimed at curbing the depopulation that affects the rural areas of the municipality, Mateos has highlighted his intention to modify the General Plan to make the regulations more flexible so that neighbors find better facilities when taking the step, opening new businesses, increase their production capacity, or when rehabilitating or building new homes.
"Our neighbors in the districts, especially the youngest ones, want to stay in their land, but the abandonment and neglect they have suffered all these years opens the door to having to look for a life project outside their districts".
The candidate for mayor has also committed to guaranteeing better communications in districts, through the improvement of the telephone signal and also of the DTT signal and the internet.
Similarly, it announces actions to combat the "financial blackout" in those districts in which bank branches have disappeared.
Regarding infrastructures in districts, Mateos has emphasized his intention to apply a "shock plan" that ends the years of deterioration and dismantling of public services in districts.
In addition, it has committed itself to undertake, as a priority, the remodeling of the RM-C9 towards Zarzadilla de Totana, and the road that connects Campo López and Morata with the coast.
"It is a historical claim, which the PP has prevented during all these years, so they are not credible when they propose it now."
