The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, along with the representative of the Obra Social "la Caixa", Javier Aznar, has announced the program that will be developed from 20 to 23 of May in our municipality on the occasion of the Sample of Activities for Active Aging "Lorca City Friendly to the Elderly", which has the collaboration of Obra Social "la Caixa".
The poster of the sample of activities has been prepared by a student of a course of new technologies offered by the Consistory to the largest Lorca.
Mínguez has detailed that "through this cycle we demonstrate that the different stages of maturity are active, fruitful and with many possibilities for action and interaction." From Monday to Thursday of next week we will show the activities developed by the groups of elders, At the same time, new physical and social development activities are proposed so that all the elderly in the municipality can join, thus promoting an active aging in which they fully enjoy their leisure ".
The program will begin on Monday, May 20 at 6 pm with the opening of the exhibition of the works carried out by different groups of adults in the Cultural Center.
It will be available to visitors until Thursday, May 23 at 12 noon.
Then there will be a demonstration of the different dances that are rehearsed in the courses offered by the Department, taking place in the Assembly Hall of the Cultural Center.
The day will end with a snack for the attendees.
On Tuesday at 10.30 am the walking march and the reading of the manifesto "Los mayores de Lorca with Volunteering" will take place.
The different participating institutions and groups will travel from the Plaza de España to Las Alamedas, where the aforementioned manifesto will be read.
At 6 pm at the Cultural Center, the intergenerational activity will take place, which will consist of the screening of the film "Coco", encouraging the older ones to enjoy the film with their grandchildren or relatives.
On Wednesday May 22 at 9:30 am the elders will visit the Archaeological Museum, where they will participate in the guided tour "Lorca in the network of Jewish quarters", requiring prior registration in the activity.
At 11:30 a.m., the "Walks with Connected Seniors" initiative will take place, starting at the Plaza de Calderón, organized by El Gigante and Vodafone Initiatives Foundations.
On the Thursday morning, specifically at 10 am, the traditional gym class at the Corredera will take place.
The closing ceremony will be held at 8 pm, in this same location, with a concert by the Municipal Music Band.
The Councilor has encouraged "all major Lorca to participate in this comprehensive agenda of activities that allows them to enjoy their leisure, but also to publicize the great work they develop through the broad agenda of workshops and activities offered by the City Council of Lorca ".
