The City Council enables this space by expanding the schedule currently provided by the Cultural Center facilities with the aim that all students can, for example, prepare exams corresponding to the Assessment of the Baccalaureate for Access to the University (EBAU), popularly known as Selectividad, as well as the exams of the different University Faculties and open competitions.

The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, together with the President of the Youth Council, Juan Pedro Rodríguez, announced this morning that the City Council is launching a 24-hour study room so that students who need it can have this service, which is available to all citizens in the Cultural Center of the City Mayor José María Campoy from today, with a total of 120 places.

The City Council enables this space by expanding the schedule currently provided by the Cultural Center facilities with the aim that all students can, for example, prepare exams corresponding to the Assessment of the Baccalaureate for Access to the University (EBAU), popularly known as Selectividad, as well as the exams of the different University Faculties and open competitions.

It is an initiative that has the support of the Youth Council, and which has been working for some time by the City Council.

As scheduled, the schedule from today will be 24 hours and progressively will be adjusted to the needs of the students themselves to optimize the use of the facilities.

It should be noted that young Lorca will have when they finish the work of the new headquarters of the Popular University in the old police station, a new Youth Space that will be located in the Plaza de la Virgen de la Amargura.

It is a first class facility in the heart of the city for the use and enjoyment of all youth groups that demand them.

Thanks to the transfer of this service to the new multipurpose space of the Plaza de San Vicente, we will equip the youth with their own headquarters that complements the facilities of the M13 and provides new services in the center of the city, such as the 24-hour study room, meetings, training spaces, and everything that young Lorca demand.

It will be governed by a self-management approach on the part of the boys and girls of our municipality, in such a way that everything adapts to what they need.

We consider that it is the best way to do it, and for that reason we bet on a new model, in which it is the youth collectives that assume all the protagonism and decide what suits them in each subject.

Currently, the Youth Council has M13 Young Space, facilities that have 800 m2 and include study room, training, meeting room, information point and hostel with 34 seats.
