The Councilor for Equality of the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martinez, has presented this morning a new edition of the "Summer Schools for Reconciling and Coeducar", which will be held from July 16 to July 31 in both the urban center of city ​​as in two districts of the municipality, being developed in the Popular University, in the public school of Almendricos and in the Point of Attention to the Childhood of the Paca.

Juan Francisco Martínez explained that "the program" Schools to Conciliate and Coeducar "aims to develop services in the municipality of Lorca to reconcile work and private life, covering the needs of children aged 3 and up. 12 years, enrolled in the centers of Pre-school and Primary Education of the municipality and that appear in the municipal register of inhabitants.These conciliation services will cover the needs of attention of boys and girls, in part of the non-school periods, while their parents and mothers are working or receiving training for employment. "

The Councilor for Equality has indicated that "these summer schools will run from July 16 to July 31, from Monday to Friday from 7:45 to 15:15 hours, in Lorca, at the Almendricos Public School and at the Point of Child Care in La Paca It should be noted that the number of places offered is 108, which are distributed between the urban area and the districts.The deadline for submitting applications begins today, June 12, and will extend until the next day 21. Martínez Carrasco stressed that "from the City of Lorca we consider it necessary to develop programs such as these" Schools to Reconciliate and Coeducate "as the reconciliation of work, family and personal life is valued as an essential strategy for the achievement of equality of women and men, in addition, help to achieve a new social and economic organization, where women and men can make compatible the different areas of their lives: employment, family and leisure and personal time.

In the Summer Schools, workshops and varied activities will be developed, such as a welcome mural;

games and presentation dynamics;

workshop to elaborate a collage on the importance of coeducation, co-responsibility and reconciliation carried out by the children participating in the program;

workshop on responsibilities and shared tasks in the home and family;

storytelling workshop;

theater workshop to represent coeducational stories;

video library on issues related to equality and coeducation;

sewing workshop and costumes;

recycling workshop;

feelings expression workshop;

workshop "Women in history";

craft workshops, as well as water and popular games (the handkerchief, the hiding place, the English duckling, ...);
