Diego José Mateos Molina will be invested Mayor of the city of Lorca with the support of the councilors of Izquierda Unida and Ciudadanos.

Thus, the socialist candidate has achieved a sufficient majority, consisting of 13 councilors, to be invested Mayor and facilitate the formation of a "government of change" which will be composed of the 10 councilors of the PSOE and the mayor of Citizens.

Mateos, who will occupy the Mayor's Office of Lorca, has announced that Ciudadanos will become part of this government with Francisco Morales as Deputy Mayor of the City of Lorca.

Over the coming days, Mateos will announce the final preparation of the government team with which the municipal council ensures "we will bet in a decisive way for democratic regeneration, transparency and social advance" as fundamental pillars of this government that will make plurality the useful tool to improve the daily life of Lorca and return to our city, our neighborhoods and districts, the splendor lost these years.

Mateos thanked the United Left's willingness to facilitate the investiture and the possibility of this government coming forward, of which IU will not be a part.
