Lorca commemorates the LGTBIQ International Pride Day with the reading of a manifesto and the placement of the rainbow flag on the balcony of the City Council (28/06/2019)

The Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, presided over this morning the celebration of the International LGTBIQ Pride Day.

An institutional act that took place in the Plaza de España, at 11:15 am, to which hundreds of Lorca and Lorca have come to show their support for this group, to commemorate "a day of struggle for tolerance, diversity , equality and respect. "

The members of the LGTBIQ collectives of Lorca and Murcia, the Youth Council;

Grupo Scout Ciudad del Sol and the Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca have carried out the reading of a manifesto in formal recognition of the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people, an institutional manifesto will be read to fight " for real equality and to avoid any type of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender ".

In addition, after reading a manifesto, for the first time in history, the rainbow flag has been placed on the balcony of the Municipal Council and that, "tolerance, respect and equality of all, regardless of the condition sexual identity or gender identity "is one of the strongest and most vindictive bets that will also comply with Law 8/2016 on Social Equality and against Discrimination in the Region of Murcia, which is fighting for the need for Public Administrations they are actively involved in the visibility and support of this group, especially on such important dates.

Mateos has shown its commitment to continue with initiatives of this type with the aim of supporting "the equality of each and every person with absolute independence of their sexual orientation and gender identity".
