The Councilor for the Environment of the City of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén has reported on the communication received by the Directorate General of Environment and Mar Menor, in relation to the increase in the last days of the levels of the particle Pm10.
In this sense, from the City of Lorca it is recommended to follow a series of prevention measures in order to avoid the increase of these particles in suspension.
The lowering of the temperature of the heating or air conditioning of houses and public buildings in order to minimize energy consumption;
private car sharing;
the use of public transport on journeys;
avoid the burning of stubbles and agricultural margins or the use of dissuasive parkings in the outskirts of the city are some of these recommendations.
These actions are framed within the Protocol of municipal action in environmental episodes of particle contamination Pm10, prepared by the Directorate General of Environment and Mar Menor, within the framework of the Plan for Improvement of Air Quality of the Region of Murcia 2016 -2018.
Ruiz Guillén explained that the PM10 are small solid or liquid particles of dust, ash, soot, metallic particles, cement or pollen, which pollute the air and can affect people with respiratory problems, so the importance of following these tips.
