The integral monitoring and rescue device is already underway on the Lorca coast during the summer period (02/07/2019)

This year, as a novelty in the deployment of material means, has incorporated a jet ski, anchored in the beach of Calnegre, to strengthen the work of rescue and rescue in the Lorca coast and offer the best possible service to bathers who visit our beaches.

The Councilor for Emergencies of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero has announced that, from this Monday, July 1, is fully running, the municipal device established on our beaches, on the occasion of the summer, operational until 1 September, from 11 am to 8 pm and that has also worked the last two weekends in June.

Casalduero has indicated that the City of Lorca, through the Municipal Emergency Service and in collaboration with the Autonomous Community, activates the COPLA 2019 Plan that during the months of July and August will have a deployment of human and material resources necessary for the Surveillance, rescue and daily rescue services, along the 10 km of coastline from the beach of Parazuelos, on the border of Mazarrón, to the beach of La Galera with the municipality of Águilas.

The mayor of Emergencies has detailed that daily at the beach of Puntas de Calnegre there will be a post of First Aid, Surveillance and Rescue, consisting of four professional aquatic lifeguards, a fixed surveillance post, a watchtower, a pneumatic boat and a disabled amphibious chair.

As in previous years, the Basic Life Support Ambulance of the Murcian Health Service is added, as it has been doing since 2010, scheduled to act in case of emergency from the base of the Municipal Emergency Service of Puntas de Calnegre.

In addition, there will be at the base of the town a first intervention vehicle with a 500-liter motor pump in case there is a small fire as has happened in other years.

As for the beach of Calnegre, which we remember one more year continues with the Blue Flag and Ecoplayas Flag, a First Aid, Surveillance and Rescue Post has been established and whose location is in the center of the beach, and which is formed by three professional aquatic lifeguards, a surveillance post, a watchtower with assistance module and a handicapped amphibious chair.

Casalduero Jódar stressed that this year, as a novelty in the deployment of material means, a watercraft has been incorporated to reinforce the rescue and rescue work in the Lorca coast and offer the best possible service to bathers who visit

our beaches.

It should be noted that it is a quick and effective means to intervene on a possible risk of drowning, and at the same time, play a key role to monitor from the sea.

The new bike incorporates elements that facilitate rescue and salvage work on beaches, such as its exclusive iBR intelligent braking and reversing system that stops it almost instantly, as well as better maneuverability in the directional control, equipped with a stretcher. rescue for the transfer of the wounded, in addition to life jackets and helmets that will allow us to take care of any rescue situation that occurs on our coast.

Since last summer there is a boat with special design for rescue on beaches of 450 cm.

of length with reinforced keel, integrated command post and a novel mechanism of automatic inflation and deflation of a float sector to recover victims in the water known as the FRS system.

In addition to surveillance in fixed posts, as usual, other parallel services are established, such as land and maritime mobile surveillance.

As for the terrestrial one, it is done with a 4x4 vehicle and 1 lifeguard from the beach of Parazuelos, border with Mazarrón, until the Siscal beach;

and in maritime surveillance from Cala Honda, Cala del Ciscar, Junquera Beach, Cala de la Gruta, Cala Blanca, Los Hierros Beach, Playa Larga and Playa de la Galera, border with Águilas.

The signaling flags are placed in the respective surveillance and rescue posts, indicating the safety conditions of the bathing places by means of the colors: red (danger, prohibition of bathing), yellow (caution) and green (safety).

Bathers and visitors are asked to cooperate with citizens respecting the state of the flags, as well as the instructions of the rescuers.

It is recalled that the new Ordinance Regulating the Correct Use of the Beaches of the Litoral of the Municipality of Lorca published in the BORM and in force at the moment is approved, in which it is approached, among others, a title to the service of surveillance, rescue, first aid and security on the beach, being under sanctioning regime the breach of any of its prohibitions and rules of conduct.

These actions of the Municipal Emergency Service are carried out in coordination with the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies of the Ministry of the Presidency of the Regional Government, which participates in the Regional Plan for Surveillance and Rescue in Beaches and Salvage at Sea (PLAN COPLA) .
