• The initiative is added to the Proposition No of Law (PNL) that the PP also presented at the Congress of Deputies, and includes claiming the 3 million euros of the agreement for investments and condoning 50% of the interests that the government of Spain continues to demand recipients of public aid to repair their homes.
• Lorca will have to pay 7.2 million on October 1 if the resistance of the central government to approve this measure persists.
The Popular Parliamentary Group in Congress will present the initiative again through a Proposition of Law.
The Spokesman of the Popular Group in the City of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has demanded that the central government approve urgently and immediately through the formula of the Decree-Law the 50% bonus on the Real Estate Tax for those affected by the earthquake of 2011, as well as the transfer of 3 million euros to finance works and services of infrastructures, equipment and services of municipal ownership, and the cancellation of 50% of the interest that is still being requested from the recipients of public aid for the settlement of their homes damaged by earthquakes.
This is the big problem that Lorca have now, what worries us all the most, and, honestly, we do not deserve the uncertainty that they are making us suffer.
This situation has reached a point of no return, has become unsustainable and can no longer be tolerated.
We have heard that at least 35 Decrees have been approved, and we think it "unpresentable" that they have not had with Lorca the sensitivity they have had for matters of lesser relevance.
Those affected by the earthquakes do not deserve this abuse by the government of Spain, so we are going to push to the maximum, since this is now the absolute priority for our municipality.
We will not allow them to leave us without the IBI bonus.
We are talking about a "sablazo" against those affected by earthquakes of 7.2 million euros, a real barbarity.
Around 44,000 receipts would be affected.
From the Popular Party we continue working to get the current central government to stop turning its back on those affected by earthquakes and resolve the issues that we put on the table.
Through our parliamentary group in the Congress of Deputies and we asked several months ago through a Proposition No Law to articulate the necessary means to apply the bonus of the IBI.
The PSOE is not fulfilling with the Lorca, has not done anything either to renounce its part of the interests of the aids of those affected by the earthquakes, something that we also demand through an initiative for months, and that the Autonomous Community committed to do and fulfilled.
However, they have not processed it, nor have they done anything.
While, paradoxically, they have approved issues that were neither necessary nor urgent in Decree Law of all kinds, except for Lorca.
We must emphasize that the dynamics of the Congress of Deputies would allow to approve this Decree Law in the Permanent Deputation tomorrow.
Fulgencio Gil, explained that there are already 4 initiatives that have been carried out by the Popular Parliamentary Group in Congress, showing the commitment of this party to help people.
Thus, on August 21, 2018 we presented an initiative (PNL) requesting the cancellation of the interests of the State so that those affected by the earthquakes can justify their aid.
On October 30, 2018, we again claim through a partial amendment to the State budget project both the bonus of 50% of the IBI and the extension of the agreement amounting to 3 million euros, and in February of this year we raised again an NLP so that 50% of the IBI would be rewarded to those affected by the earthquakes.
It is about 4 legislative measures that ratify the commitment of the PP in this regard.
What Lorca demands is that a Decree Law be issued to solve these issues.
In fact if they want tomorrow they can do it.
The truth is that they have not moved a finger for Lorca, they have not done anything, neither in infrastructures nor in earthquake issues.
We demand that you move the tab now.
To this end, the PP will present a motion in this regard at the next plenary session of the City Council, through which it will seek the support of all the municipal groups.
