This activity, which is free and will take place at the M13 Youth Training and Resource Center, aims to generate collaboration synergies with other entities such as Down Lorca, Cáritas, Apandis or the Scout Group 108 Ciudad del Sol, working in the field of non-formal education with young people in the city.
The Councilor for Youth of the City of Lorca, Jose Angel Ponce, together with the representative of the Intercultural Cazalla Association, Aida Onica has presented, this morning, a new edition of the Summer School developed by this group in collaboration with the City of Lorca .
Ponce has detailed that "this initiative, which is totally free, will take place from July 8 to 26 at the M13 Youth Training and Resource Center from 10 am to 1.30 pm in its multipurpose rooms, in the park of the university and various municipal facilities, where up to a hundred young people between 7 and 14 years of age living in the municipality of Lorca will be able to participate ".
The mayor of Youth has indicated that "this summer school proposes to support young people in the search for various forms of communication by stimulating them in the construction of intercultural relations with their peers and to explore how to communicate sensitively and constructively in the international arena. The young people will be divided into two age groups, each one monitored by a group of volunteers from Lorca, as well as others from Italy, Romania, Germany, France and Poland who are currently developing their European volunteering projects in our city".
On the other hand, Aida Onica highlighted "the importance of cooperation between associations that work with young people, as it allows, on the one hand, new collaborations to strengthen the associative fabric and on the other, to inform young people about other leisure and volunteer opportunities that are developing in Lorca ".
Together with the Scout Group Ciudad del Sol and Down Lorca, environmental activities will be developed, healthy confectionary workshops in the visit of the boys and girls of Cáritas to the facilities of the youth center, as well as Apandis workshops will be held crafts and recycling of materials that will encourage the creative development of the participants.
This initiative is in addition to the two summer camps that are already underway in the Casa Iglesias shelter in the Lorca district of La Culebrina, thus completing an offer of youth participation for this month of July.
