Isabel Casalduero: "Twelve years and two mayors were not enough for the Popular Party to be able to find and put at disposal of health a plot where to build the health center in San Cristobal"

The spokesman of the Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, has responded this Sunday to the accusations made by the spokesman of the PP in Lorca to the councilors of Urbanism and Health of "ignorance" and "negligence" regarding the matter of the construction of a health center in the neighborhood of San Cristobal, reminding the PP that "if this service still does not exist after 12 years of popular government, it is precisely because of its incompetence".

Casalduero recalled that this health infrastructure was planned since 2008 by the regional health map and the only thing that the City Council had to do was put at the disposal of the Autonomous Community a land for its construction, and they did it "very late and very badly, initiating the procedures in a site classified as flooding, by the CHS, in the maps of flood zones approved after the floods of 2012 ".

For the current government team is "common sense" that a health center, an essential service "is not installed in an area that can be flooded and leave it isolated or disable it in case of emergency," recalled Casalduero.

"What is an example of negligence and irresponsibility is closing San Diego's urgencies, as the Popular Party did in 2012 and promising months before an election the construction of a new health center knowing that, where they promised it, it was impossible because it was a flood zone, declared as such in 2012 after the floods that year. "

"The residents of the neighborhood can be sure that, now, in the City of Lorca there is a mayor and a government team that, although we have to start from scratch, is committed to finding the best possible location for the construction of this health center, with which to decongest Lorca-San Diego and with which also contribute to the recovery of quality public services in the neighborhood ".
