Cala de Calnegre surpasses the audit to maintain the Blue Flag granted by the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (20/07/2019)

When returning to fulfill this summer with the parameters of quality, security or accessibility established by the entity, the Lorca beach reissues the badge that it received for the first time in the year 2017.

The councilman of Tourism of the City council of Lorca, Francisco Morales, has informed of the overcoming of the audit of quality realized to the Creek of Calnegre with reason of the concession of the blue flag to this beach.

The councilman of Tourism has indicated that "it is a favorable result that is obtained for the third consecutive year in this Lorca beach." Our cove meets the quality standards of bathing waters, which are analyzed during the time of bath, physical-chemical parameters are also checked to verify that the PH is in normal range, that there is no floating pollution and that there are no wastewater discharges.This beach has a cleaning plan, has containers and selective collection of waste, presence of qualified rescue equipment, first aid equipment and easy and safe access, as well as access and services for people with disabilities, among other services, necessary for each year to re-issue this distinctive that is also important for the promotion of tourism in our locality ".

Morales explained that "the blue flag application is prepared, during the month of November, when the Tourism Department sends all documentation to the entity, in January, if necessary, the requirements are presented and in June the entity communicates the result to us, that is, whether they grant it to us or not, and it is now, in the months of July and August, when the beach is in operation and with all the facilities and equipment, when the auditors of the Association of Education Environmental and Consumer Affairs (ADEAC) come to visit her ".

The mayor of Tourism recalled that "the Blue Flag is an award and a system of environmental quality certification created and managed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), in 1987. The FEE is constituted by almost 74 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's), one for each participating state, ADEAC is the responsible member for Spain of the FEE. "

The objective of the Foundation for Environmental Education is to promote, at an international level, information and environmental education, through Programs such as Blue Flag, Eco-schools, Young Reporters for the Environment, Green Key and Forests at School or other actions that promote the sustainable development of tourism and local communities, in line with Local Agenda 21 of the Rio Conference.
