The Spokesman of the Municipal Group of IU-V, Pedro Sosa, shelled this morning before the media the two motions that he will defend on behalf of his group in the first municipal plenary session of the new Corporation.
His initiatives abound in two issues that are part of the "investor pact" of Diego José Mateos as Mayor of Lorca that he signed with the elected candidate of the PSOE on the morning of Saturday, June 15.
The first of these has to do with the defense of the environmental values ​​of the Lorca coastline, which, as is known, is part of the protected natural area as Cope-Calnegre Coastal-Coastal Regional Coastal Park.
Sosa recalls in his motion that this space that we share with the municipality of Águilas is protected on the role of a 1992 Law, and that we have been at least 27 years late in the approval of the main instrument that really defines and guarantees its protection : the Natural Resources Management Plan.
A legal obligation that we have been breaching for 27 years in a context in which attempts to unprotect part of the Park's surface have not ceased, and in which impunity in the face of continuous and repeated sabotage, breakage, and attacks on environmental values of the Regional Park by those who have never accepted their protection, have been the general trend.
In his motion Sosa asks for three things.
The First is the immediate processing of the modification of the Urban Planning of Lorca to adapt it to the judicial decisions of the TSJ of Murcia that knocked out the unprotection of part of the space and the attempts to urbanize it.
The second is to urge the Governing Council of the Region of Murcia to proceed without further delay to the preparation, processing and approval of the Plan for the Management of Natural Resources of the Coastal-Coastal Regional Park of Cabo Cope-Calnegre.
And the third requires that until the PORN of Cabo Cope-Calnegre is not approved and implemented its determinations, the City of Lorca challenges through the appropriate legal tools any modification of the Guidelines of the Coastline of the Region of Murcia that contemplates an extension of the non-environmental uses in our coastal strip.
With his second motion, the mayor of IU-V demands that the Regulation of Districts and Neighborhood Boards of Lorca be removed from the drawer, modified, made more democratic and put into operation at the beginning of the year.
Sosa recalls with this motion another historical legal breach of our municipality, since Lorca decided on his own will in 2008 to submit to the regime of organization of municipalities with large populations, and more than a decade ago he should have implemented the legal mandate that forced him to start the districts and neighborhood boards.
Through its motion, it intends to modify the composition of the Neighborhood Boards so that all groups with municipal representation have at least one member within it and also intends that the District Boards and the Neighborhood and District Boards be constituted and start operating in the first days of 2020.
