The spokesmen of the Municipal Groups of the Popular Party and United Left in the City of Lorca, congratulated this morning of the unanimous approval of all the deputies of the Regional Assembly of the extension of the period of justification of the aid received for the repair of homes affected by the earthquake that our city suffered in May 2011.
Fulgencio Gil, spokesman of the Popular Group, stressed that the initiative that has been taken forward this morning is directly, and personally, by our Regional President, Fernando López, who maintains a permanent interest with all the issues that have to do with Lorca, and in particular, with the issues related to those affected by the earthquakes, and that has materialized this morning in the Regional Assembly through the intervention of our regional deputy Lorca, María del Carmen Ruiz.
The Popular Spokesman wanted to highlight the important contribution of IU Lorca in this regard, which has been enriching, and therefore immediately welcomed by us.
It is fair to highlight his work, leading the defense of the interests of those affected.
Today, an important step has been taken, a very great advance so that those affected can adequately justify their repair.
We have had to face a long and complex process, in which we have put Lorca's interests before any partisan purpose, removing obstacles.
We don't have any pain in recognizing merits, because the problems of Lorca are solved by all, shaking hands in matters of general interest.
The Deputy Spokesman of the Municipal Group of IU in the City of Lorca, Gloria Martín, has underlined the spirit of "collaboration" and "common sense" that has prevailed among the municipal groups of the City of Lorca in this matter, and especially between IU and the PP "because for two years it was this party that had government responsibilities and along with them we had to fight in Murcia and Madrid."
In this regard, Martin highlighted the fact that the previous mayor, Fulgencio Gil, has always acted as an ally of those affected because "the important thing for both formations was to solve the problem of our neighbors regardless of our ideological differences."
âThis is a path that we started together, to which we have dedicated a lot of effort and hours of work and it is fair that we also celebrate the great step taken today,â said the mayor of IU-Verdes.
Martin has announced that the municipal plenary next Monday will withdraw from the motion presented by IU the achievements that have already been achieved, but will maintain the request for the Ministry of Development to expedite the file of the prescribed files and for the Government of Spain to approve the remission of late payment interest required of those affected.
