• Fulgencio Gil denounces that the current local government this issue "has totally gone out of hand", and in just one month it has generated such deep uncertainty that it has led professionals in the sector to go to the City Council to show their concern.
The Spokesman of the Popular Group in the City of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has stated that it is our obligation to transfer to the public opinion the deep uncertainty that exists among our farmers because of the total absence of guarantees that the current municipal misgovernment transmits.
The scenario they have generated is very negative, since instead of keeping calm and seeking formulas to help professionals in the sector, they are trying to persecute and criticize those who expose the point of view of Lorca farmers.
Never before has such a concern been created in such a short time.
What our farmers need is that the great effort that has been developed over the years to modernize their facilities and comply with the different regulations that are implemented in the sector be recognized.
We cannot assume under any circumstances that some act as if nothing happens in the face of the unfair attacks that are being carried out against Lorca farmers.
The reality is that especially during the last years we are attending an orchestrated campaign to demonize the professionals of the pig sector, and we cannot allow them to stay idly by such nonsense.
Fulgencio Gil has shown his rejection of the fact that in recent times we are witnessing multiple attacks, criticisms and manipulations against pig workers in the face of what we cannot stand idly by.
These attacks are a true "harakiri", since some have been determined to throw stones at their own roof.
It is a totally incomprehensible attitude, protected by falsehoods and populisms whose consequences have not been valued by those who have been carrying them out.
This has to stop.
From the Popular Party we are with our farmers because we are aware of the daily and continuous effort they are making on their farms, a work that has led them to be at the forefront of innovation in their facilities, with the advice and support of Adespolorca as a reference entity for the entire region.
The degree of responsibility that pig farmers have assumed takes them even to act forcefully when they detect incidents in facilities that are not in the conditions they should.
What constitutes a tremendous injustice is to consider that the punctual deficiency of a farm is the generality of the sector, and that is what some are trying.
We reject this authentic smear campaign, since it does not correspond to the truth and is a serious mistake.
The PP has highlighted the social and conciliation commitment that farmers in the pig sector maintain with our municipality, and which has as a more recent example the progressive implementation of the new Certified Animal Welfare (IAWS) seal.
We are talking about an initiative promoted by Lorca farmers integrated in Adespolorca, and promoted by, Interporc Spain, the Interprofessional Organization of the Porcine Agri-Food of Capa Blanca (INTERPORC), a non-profit entity in which all sectors of the White-coat pig value chain: production, processing and marketing.
It is the most important Interprofessional organization in the meat sector due to the volume of pig production in our country.
Fulgencio Gil has congratulated Adespolorca for this new impulse of quality in the sector, and has stated that Lorca farmers are developing a wide range of improvement actions in their farms, as well as in all the steps related to breeding and making available from pork to consumers.
We are talking about the main socio-economic engine of our region, a historical factor of progress also for the generation of employment, which allows us all to have products of the highest quality, healthy and produced in our own municipality.
The Spokesman of the Municipal Municipal Group has stressed that "we live here from this", and this new seal that is wanted to be implanted in the Lorca farms constitutes the Technical Regulation of Animal Welfare and Biosafety of greater demand of the European Union, and is endorsed by a Independent Scientific Committee
