The City Council shows its support for the candidacy to ensure that the National Meeting of Young Cofrades 2020 is held in Lorca (31/07/2019)

Specifically, this is the eighth edition of an event that could be attended by "a thousand young people from all over Spain and to those who would make our city known for a weekend next fall."

The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has shown this morning his support to the youth representatives of the various brotherhoods and brotherhoods of the city to organize the National Congress of Young Brothers and Brotherhoods (JOHC) next year.

Mateos recalled "the importance of celebrating Holy Week for Lorca, both from a cultural and tourist point of view" and highlighted "the work carried out in the different brotherhoods and brotherhoods from an early age, following the family tradition over the years. "

The mayor said that "the fact that this congress is held in Lorca would be, without a doubt, a very good platform to continue promoting the candidacy of the Lorca embroidery to Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO and to talk about our Holy Week also outside its date of celebration. "

"We have to work together to achieve, among all, this objective since it would not only be an important revulsion, but also the national promotion of our Holy Week and everything that our city offers," said Mateos.

The First Edil has highlighted "the important role of young Lorca who turn in the organization and who contribute to the greatness of our Holy Week. And who do so from an early age, a very clear example is the celebration of the Paper Procession ".

To defend this candidacy, an Organizing Commission has been created in which all the brotherhoods and brotherhoods that will make the decisions will participate, always trying to reach unanimity.

In addition, José Ángel Ponce, Councilor for Youth of the City of Lorca, will be responsible for coordinating the work of the Commission.

Representatives of the Blue, White, Encarnate, Purple, Black and Resuscitated Steps have presented this candidacy this morning with which they undertake to contribute all their knowledge and experiences in order to make Lorca the headquarters of the eighth edition of the JOHC. They have ensured that they will all work in a coordinated manner and, through close collaboration, will strive to achieve the goal marked with the support, also, of the presidents of the different Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods.
