The City of Lorca signs a collaboration agreement with APAT to extend the service at the Early Care Center in the afternoon (09/08/2019)

Specifically, the agreement grants a grant of 68,000 euros to allow the continuation of the Human Resources project for the Center for Child Development and Early Care and strengthen the team of municipal specialists.

The second Deputy Mayor, Isabel Casalduero, together with the Councilor for Social Services, María Dolores Chumillas, have signed a collaboration agreement with the Association of Parents of Children of the Early Care Center, APAT.

Casalduero has explained that "the purpose of the agreement is the granting of a subsidy, worth 68,000 euros, to APAT that will allow the center's specialists to pay attention in the afternoon to continue in the morning and continue, thus, with the Human Resources project development for the Center for Child Development and Early Care of Lorca, a project whose purpose is to provide a specialized service and try to alleviate the waiting list for families in need of this municipal service and reinforcement of specialists with the municipal team which also develops this activity. "

For its part, the Councilor for Social Services specified that "the attention will be coordinated with the Directorate of the Municipal Early Care Day Center (CDIAT) in order to reduce the effects of the global development deficit; optimize the course of child development; introduce mechanisms for compensation, elimination of barriers and adaptation to basic needs; avoid the appearance of shortcomings of children at high risk; make the child an active subject of the intervention or collaborate with families in developing a therapeutic work plan and the necessary strategies that allow to help the family to incorporate elements of improvement that allow a greater well-being to the child ".

Chumillas has shown that "the Association, thanks to this agreement, will use the premises located on Carlos Barberán Street as well as the necessary equipment to fulfill the functions of care and therapeutic interventions for children under six years of age, their families and its surroundings, in the afternoon. "

The Edil recalled that "the users of this early care service are children under 6 years of age with therapeutic, transitory or permanent needs caused by limitations, developmental alterations or at risk of suffering it, as well as belonging to the families of affected children that they will receive the information, guidance, training, support and intervention necessary for the adequate family and social approach of the child ".
