The PSOE requires the Regional Government to fulfill its commitment to pay 50 percent of the reconstruction aid and rents of those affected by the Lorca earthquakes (09/08/2019)

The Central Government approves two Contingency Funds to comply with the payments and the National Deputy, Marisol Sánchez Jódar, recalls that "these grants are co-financed by the Regional Government and asks López Miras to comply with its obligations towards its citizens."

The National Deputy of the PSOE, Marisol Sánchez Jódar, along with the second Deputy Mayor of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, have announced the approval of two Contingency Funds by the central government "to fulfill the commitment to pay both aid for the reconstruction and repair of damaged homes due to the earthquakes of 2011 as well as the rents that the residents of Lorca have had to face during these years while the reconstruction work was being carried out ".

Casalduero has ensured that since the Socialist Party began to govern and Diego José Mateos took office as mayor, directly assuming the management of the aid granted after the 2011 earthquakes as well as the culmination of the reconstruction of the city "It has established itself as one of its top priorities, as we did before, ending as quickly and diligently as possible with all the fringes that are still pending."

The second deputy mayor has explained that "among many of the issues we are studying, highlights the delay in the payment of certain aid to both reconstruction and repair, but especially those of the rent that our neighbors have been waiting for years to be make effective. "

For its part, the National Deputy, Marisol Sánchez Jódar, has specified that "the Government of Spain, despite being in office, complies and pays."

Regarding the issue of pending payments on the occasion of the grants granted for the reconstruction and repair of homes, he explained that "in early July, the Council of Ministers approved a Contingency Fund for the amount of 104,016 euros that became effective last week of the same month. With regard to rents, Sánchez Jódar has detailed that "the Ministry of Interior confirms that there were three outstanding remittances corresponding to 2019 with an amount that amounts to 201,250.1 euros. The National Deputy has shown that "the Government of Spain, despite being in office, has fulfilled its commitment both in the payment of housing reconstruction aid and rent."

Sánchez Jódar recalled that the payment is divided to 50 percent from the Central Government and "the other 50 percent to a Regional Government that is no longer in office" for what he has demanded from the president of CARM, also Lorca , Fernando López Miras, that fulfills the commitment acquired and allows full payment to those affected.
