The Local Police have arranged special measures for the management of road traffic on Lope Gisbert, Cuesta de San Francisco, Corredera, Álamo and Plaza de España streets.
The Councilor for Citizen Security of the City of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, has informed that, on the occasion, tomorrow Thursday, August 15, of the Procession of the Virgin of the Swan there will be special traffic measures, between 20 and 23 hours.
The mayor of Public Safety has recalled that the planned route for this procession will be the departure from the Church of San Mateo, to tour Lope Gisbert, Cuesta de San Francisco, Corredera, Álamo, Plaza de España, to return by Calle Álamo and Lope Gisbert to the Church of San Mateo.
Ruiz Guillén has detailed that "for this reason it will be forbidden to park on the itinerary that will be cleared of vehicles several hours before the start of the procession, in addition the roads affected by the route will be cut, establishing diversions and alternative itineraries, a police device will be established and of signaling to clear the route, make the cuts and indicate the deviations enabled ".
In this way, all those who have to access, by vehicle, to the neighborhoods of Santa María, San Juan, San Pedro and Santiago can do so from Carretera de La Parroquia and La Merced area once the access roads are occupied normal to the aforementioned neighborhoods.
The routes from San Cristóbal and adjacent neighborhoods in the direction of Puerto Lumbreras or the Rafael Méndez Hospital must circulate along Juan Carlos Avenue and along the ring road of the Poeta Para Vico - Mayor José Antonio Gallego López-Mayor José López Fuentes streets.
Cars coming from the Barrio de La Viña, San Antonio, San José and adjacent in the direction of Murcia and Barrio San Cristóbal may drive along Juan Carlos Avenue and along the ring road formed by Poeta Para Vico - Mayor José Antonio Gallego López- Mayor José López Fuentes.
During the celebration of this event, urban transport will circulate in both directions along Juan Carlos I Avenue, maintaining the service until the influx of public allows it in the streets of the route, especially Lope Gisbert.
In addition, the officers in charge of the police operation will allow transit (with caution) until the circumstances of the public determine their limitation.
The neighbors of the affected streets are requested to avoid the use of vehicles as much as possible.
