The Councilor of Celebrations of the City of Lorca, José Ángel Ponce, has informed this morning of the implementation of the spraying work in the neighborhood of La Viña as a preventive method to prevent the proliferation of mosquitoes.
Ponce has announced that "from 7 in the morning, and throughout the day, the fumigation of the area between Tejedores street and the old electrical substation is being carried out, in the neighborhood of La Viña. It is a action that pursues the objective of reducing the proliferation of mosquitoes through a treatment using adulticides, as well as a treatment of imbornales through larvicidal products ".
The Councilor of Health has explained that "the treatment that the operators specialized in the matter are applying on this area of ​​the city, includes landscaped areas, trees and hedges, since these are precisely the elements in which insects are usually found, as well as their places of reproduction. "
Ponce Díaz recalled that once applied to the elements described, a time interval of between 1 and 2 hours is established as a security period, during which we request that access of people and pets to the interior of the green areas be avoided, being able to transit through the rest of the parks without problem. "
The Edil has detailed that "from the Department of Health we recommend residents living in the area to proceed to the closing of the windows of their homes from that time and the removal of pets from abroad, do not leave clothes hanging, avoid walk of domestic animals, as well as other habitual measures in these cases ".
