A person has been investigated as the alleged author of the crime of theft
He is also credited with the alleged authorship of crime against workers' rights, for having foreign employees in an irregular situation without an employment contract
ROCA Team agents have recovered about half of the stolen aromatic plants
The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the services established to prevent and prosecute the theft of aromatic plants, has developed the operation 'Rosmarine', which has resulted in the clarification of the theft of 9,000 kilos of rosemary from a rustic farm de Lorca and the investigation of a person as the alleged author of the facts.
After the operation, which is framed in the 'Plan against subtractions in farms and livestock', the Civil Guard has clarified a crime of theft and another against the rights of workers, and has recovered about half of the products subtracted
The proceedings began last August, when the Civil Guard was alerted by submitting a complaint of the removal of a large number of aromatic plants from a rustic farm in the municipality of Lorca.
Apparently several people moved to the farm and stole around 9,000 kilos of rosemary.
ROCA Team members of the Benemérita began the operation to verify the facts reported and, where appropriate, develop the corresponding investigation to clarify them.
The first steps of the operation made it possible to verify the commission of the criminal act, so that various investigations were conducted aimed at gathering all possible indications about the commission of the investigated facts and the identity of their authors.
As a result of the investigation, the civil guards found that a businessman from the agricultural sector allegedly had taken several of his workers to the rustic farm to collect the rosemary.
In one of the surveillance devices established in the cultivation area of the aromatic plant, the civil guards surprised three workers collecting rosemary.
After identification, the relevant checks were carried out, since they were of Maghreb origin, and it was verified that they were in an irregular situation and that they lacked an employment contract.
After identifying the person responsible for the workers, the civil guards have located and investigated him, who have been instructed as alleged perpetrator of the crime of theft and against the rights of the workers.
During the development of the operation, the Civil Guard has recovered about half of the nine tons of rosemary stolen that, after being brought to justice, have been returned to their rightful owner.
The investigated, the effects recovered and the proceedings taken have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Lorca (Murcia).
