The PSOE again denounces that users of Health Area III are "second-class citizens in health matters" (15/10/2019)

The Socialists demand that the Regional Government take advantage of the change in Management to put an end to the deficiencies and serious inequalities that this area suffers with respect to others in the Region.

The deputies of the PSOE in the Regional Assembly, José Antonio Peñalver and Rosalía Casado, together with the councilors of Health of Lorca, José Ángel Ponce;

Águilas, María Dolores García Albarracín, and the PSOE spokeswoman in Puerto Lumbreras, María Rosa García, have once again expressed their concern at the "precarious health situation experienced by the citizens of all the municipalities of area III, and which translates according to his words - in eternal waiting lists that, for years, have exceeded the limits allowed by law and that far from improving are getting worse day by day. "

Waiting lists that only grow in Area III, according to data from the SMS itself, in August there were 4,185 patients with no date assigned for specialty consultation, almost a third of the total in the Region.

Especially "bleeding" results are the Gynecology or Traumatology data where the average waiting time exceeds 100 days and is twice the regional average.

It is also striking that almost all Rehabilitation patients do not have an assigned date and the average waiting time exceeds 200 days.

In this sense, Rosalía Casado has referred specifically to the gynecology office in which there is currently a year and a half delay to be treated;

a time that the deputy has described as "intolerable, especially when we talk about issues related to health."

The Socialist deputy has lamented a fact that also adds to the blocking of medical agendas, closed for many specialties, which translates for users in Area III "in desperate waiting for an appointment that never comes".

The socialist deputy José Antonio Peñalver has urged, once again, the Minister of Health of the Region of Murcia, Manuel Villegas, to provide a solution to a problem that makes users in Area III "second-class citizens in health matters."

Now, after the recent dismissal of the Area III manager, it is time for the Regional Government and the new manager to fill this position to put an end to the deficiencies and serious inequalities that this area suffers with respect to others in the Region.
