If possible, try to tune in to local radio stations, which will surely inform you of the weather forecasts for the area you are in.
Self-protection measures to be taken in case of emergency due to heavy rains
In emergency situations caused by heavy rains, it is very important.
Keep permanently informed through the radio and other official media, weather forecasts and the state of the situation.
If the house is flooded, it is essential to leave the basements and ground floors as soon as possible and disconnect the electricity using, preferably, flashlights for lighting.
If you have to travel, try to drive, preferably, on main roads and highways.
If you are in the countryside, you have to get away from rivers, torrents and low areas of hillsides and hills, avoiding, in turn, cross flooded fords or bridges that offer doubts about their resistance.
On the contrary, you should go to the highest points in the area.
