The PP proposes to take advantage of the elimination of the deficit of the City Council to execute investments for improvement in districts for an amount of 4 million euros (23/10/2019)

The liquidation of the budget confirms that the economic management of the PP has managed to end the negative remaining cash, which now allows the City Council to request loans for investments, an advantage that the Consistory can not lose

The Councilor for Economy in the City of Lorca by the Popular Party, Juan Francisco Martínez, has informed that the Popular Party will demand that the City Council request a loan for a total amount of 4 million euros to fully allocate them to the execution of new investments in our districts.

Juan Francisco Martínez said that for the first time in recent years the City Council is in a position to request a loan to finance new investments.

This has been possible thanks to the management of the governments of the Popular Party in Lorca, which have achieved that the remaining treasury is already positive at 1.8 million euros, as indicated by the liquidation of the last municipal budget.

That is why from the PP we understand that the Consistory must take advantage of this important improvement in the municipal accounts to arrange an operation of 4 million euros to continue improving the quality of life and well-being of the residents of districts.

Martínez Carrasco explained that during the 2015-2019 period the City Council developed the largest bank of investments in districts in the recent history of our municipality, following the priorities set by the neighbors themselves.

In these years, our 38 councils have benefited from up to four different lines of action that have led to the direct investment of almost 9 million euros in works and services.

We must point out that in 2016 the agreement of 3 million euros signed with the Ministry of Finance and Public Function was allocated to the rural areas.

In 2017, another 3 million euros of a new agreement with the Ministry were fully executed in the rural area of our municipality, an amount to which another 2 million euros were added by the Regional Government of the Popular Party for renewal of infrastructures in districts.

The Councilor of the Popular Party has pointed out that in 2018 the Regional Government's Neighborhood and District Plan, endowed with more than 700,000 euros, was fully allocated to the rural centers by decision of the municipal government.

In addition, in the area of water sanitation, the Autonomous Community has invested in recent years about 100 million euros in new collectors and wastewater treatment plants, and more than 30 million in the renovation and execution of new communication infrastructure for continue to structure our broad municipal term.

From the PP we are aware that this line of work cannot be stopped, but we must continue to continue to meet the needs of the Lorca who live or develop their professional activity in our districts.

The popular Lorca, in parallel to this initiative, are going to ask the Consistory to continue demanding that the Government of Spain formalize with the City Council a new agreement of 3 million euros for the renovation of infrastructure in districts.

A question that is still pending today and that responds to the commitment with Lorca that at the time the Government of Mariano Rajoy did, thanks to which 6 million have already been invested in the 2016 and 2017 financial years.

These proposals will be submitted to the next municipal plenary session through a motion, which includes that in the ordinary municipal plenary session corresponding to the month of November, a motion for the approval of the request for a loan of 4 million euros is processed to allocate entirely to new investments in the districts.
