The Councilor for Tourism of the City of Lorca, Francisco Morales, has announced that on Sundays 10, 17 and 24 of the month of November and on December 1, Falconry lovers can enjoy the exhibitions that will be held in the castle of Lorca by expert falconers from the Puerto Lumbreras company, 'Las ┴guilas del Sol'.
One of the main entertainments of the lords in the Middle Ages was the hunting with raptors and this is what is shown during these days in the Castle of Lorca to know all the secrets of this centenary art of falconry as a complement to the visit to the castle, to the Jewish quarter and synagogue and to the Alfonsina tower.
The birds will be exposed throughout the morning so that visitors can approach a few meters from them and know all the characteristics of their plumage, their flights and their physiognomy at the hands of our expert falconers.
They can even be photographed with them and if they convince the falconers and dare they can put on a falconer glove and feel the pleasure of having in their hands an impressive specimen of owl, Harry's eagle or hawk.
At the end of the morning and around noon there will be a complete flight show in which you will be amazed by the hunting skills of these birds.
The Councilor for Tourism, said that "it is an opportunity for the smallest of the house to meet and approach these beautiful animals and see their spectacular flights live and not only see them on television or in the movies."
In addition, he added that "those who have the 'Friendly Card of Lorca' can enjoy free entrance to the castle and falconry show."
Tickets are on sale at the Lorca Taller del Tiempo website where there are different purchase options, be it entrance to the castle + falconry + 2 guided small houses and food, or entrance to the castle + falconry.
