Lorca will welcome Christmas 2019 this Friday (03/12/2019)

In addition, all the ornaments and lights that are being installed during this week will be illuminated in the traditional Christmas lighting giving a special color to the streets of our city.

The councilors of Celebrations and Culture and Historic District of the City of Lorca, José Ángel Ponce and María Ángeles Mazuecos, respectively, announced this morning that Christmas will arrive in Lorca this Friday, December 6, in the afternoon.

The mayor of Festejos has explained that detailed that "the group 'Cap pela' will be responsible for welcoming these holidays in Lorca and will do so by displaying their Christmas songbook with classics of the last decades in a very representative setting in the middle of the town history of the city. And we get ahead with this welcome to Christmas and on to other cities like Murcia. "

Ponce Díaz has stressed that "this next Friday, starting at 7:30 p.m., we will welcome such endearing Christmas dates in a unique way, since this group works musical arrangements that seek to fully explore all the rich sound and harmonica that they can achieve with their seven voices, always giving their personal vision to the original theme. "

For its part, the Councilor for Culture and Historic District has stressed that "in this way you want to make the heart of the city the protagonist of this special moment such as the arrival of Christmas on the calendar, so in addition to the concert that will take place on Corredera Street, the main streets of the historic center will host, starting at 6:30 p.m., a parade under the title "Fantasy in White" trying to make all Lorca's participants in this cultural festive event and in which we will count on the invaluable collaboration of children from various groups such as APAT Lorca, Apandis, Adilor, Asofem and Down Lorca. "

"Without a doubt, this is another example of the commitment that from this government team we are making from this moment through this area of the municipality, taking as an example the good results that some musical, social and solidarity events have given us Corredera Street as a stage ", insisted the mayor of Casco Histórico.

The councilor of Festejos has detailed that "Cap Pela is a vocal group from Mallorca that develops its repertoire sung entirely in chapel, that is, without any other instrument than the voice. They began their career in 1994 with a varied repertoire, characterized by a balanced combination of international successes of many different styles: from R&B in Pop, through Jazz, Soul, author song ... to traditional songs and own compositions ".

Ponce has pointed out that "precisely, one of the keys to his success all this time is to have known how to select this repertoire based on his own personal tastes, but, above all, depending on what best suits his vocal characteristics and his way of conceiving the live. "

In their more than 20 years of experience they have performed more than 400 concerts both in Mallorca and in the rest of Spain and part of Europe.

The members of the groups remember with special affection their first steps in the international festivals of Verona (1996) and Cantonigros (1997 and 1998);

the fact of having shared the stage with a world legend like BB King (1998);

having composed the soundtrack of the gala of the MAX theater awards of 2000, as well as being able to interpret the traditional 'Canto de la Sibila' in Paris (2010), just after being declared Intangible Heritage of Unesco, among others.

In 2012 they were invited to the Festival für Vokalmusik Leipzig, a year later they were in the Girona a Cappella Festival, in the VOICEMANIA Festival, held in Vienna in 2015) and in 2016 they participated in the first edition of the VES Festival of Olot.
