The Community will provide specific information and assistance to Agrasa workers (03/12/2019)

The counselor Miguel Motas meets with the mayor of Águilas and stresses that "we will coordinate to offer those affected all the information, support and advice that are necessary"

The Minister of Employment, Research and Universities, Miguel Motas, met today with the mayor of Águilas, María del Carmen Moreno, to directly address the collective dismissal of 400 workers announced by the Agrícola Aguileña (Agrasa).

Thus, some of the first measures to provide information and assistance to these people will be to create a space on the website of the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) with useful information for workers, which will include a form through which interested in receiving services from the SEF may register, attach their curriculum vitae, and transfer their labor interests.

Another option on the table to facilitate the advice to these people is that, as long as the workers remain linked to the company and with the obligation to attend their job, an information device is activated immediately at the headquarters of the the company, with staff from the SEF and the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), as well as lawyers from the UGT and CCOO unions.

In addition, and with a view to administrative simplification, the SEF and the SEPE will coordinate to offer them a centralized registration as job seekers, without the need to go one by one to the employment office, and to later facilitate the collection of possible benefits.

To facilitate this joint registration, the SEF will be in contact with the workers' representatives.

Motas, who was accompanied by the general director of the SEF, Aurelio Morales, stressed that "we will coordinate to offer those affected all the information, support and advice that are necessary. It is a very tough situation in which we want them to count with the SEF not only to facilitate all the procedures to the fullest, but also to accompany them and guide them towards a return as quickly as possible to the labor market. "

The technicians of the SEF will detail the services and assistance offered by the autonomous body responsible for active employment policies in the Region, and will adapt to the labor orientation needs they may require.

The SEF will make available to these people itineraries for insertion in the labor market, determining the most appropriate actions for each profile and deriving them to those most useful active policies in each case, such as courses, workshops to improve skills for job search, or participation in employment programs, among others.

Training needs

In the field of training for employment, the Ministry appreciates the conduct of a study of prospecting and detection of training needs of both the dismissed and the municipality of Águilas, to know in depth the direction that the training offer should take.

Knowing these training priorities will allow you to refine the insertion itinerary that your job counselors will design for you, and refer you to those courses that suit you best.

In terms of entrepreneurship, they will be offered information on the grants they have in the SEF to facilitate establishing themselves as self-employed, which reach up to 5,000 euros and are available, indefinitely, throughout the year.
