The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, along with the Councilor for Parks and Gardens of the City of Lorca, Antonio Navarro, have visited this morning the municipal nursery where Easter flowers are prepared that will adorn the city during this Christmas period.
Mateos has announced that "with the arrival of the month of December the planting works of the poinsettias, the traditional poinsettias that will decorate our city, our streets, squares and gardens begin another Christmas."
"In addition to the showyness that we will enjoy both Lorca and visitors, it highlights that each and every one of these flowers, of different varieties and colors, that have been cultivated with great affection, during the last months, by the staff of the municipal nursery" , highlighted the First Edil.
Diego José Mateos has detailed that "the cultivation of the 4,500 poinsettias in the municipal nursery, with a total production cost of € 0.45 per unit, represents a saving on the market value of around 20,000 euros for the City Council ".
The mayor stressed that "it will be in emblematic places such as the squares of Colón, Doña Concha Sandoval and Oval, the gardens of the Huerto Ruano, the neighborhoods and districts of the city and it is that Easter flowers will also be sent to the neighborhood associations both in the urban area and in the districts ".
Mateos Molina stressed that "the municipal nursery of the City of Lorca is the largest capacity of own production in the entire Region of Murcia", and has advanced that "work is already done on the plantations that will be carried out after the Christmas period in our municipality so that our parks and gardens look splendid all year round. "
