The Department of Tourism shows the tourist offer of Lorca, on a familiarization trip with journalists, to this organization, which chartered flights from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to the Murcia Region International Airport.

The Department of Tourism received yesterday in our municipality the visit of the Airline 'Binter', in a familiarization trip with journalists from various media of the Canary Islands organized by Murcia Tourism so they can know the Region of Murcia.

The Councilor for Tourism, Francisco Morales, has reported that "these familiarization actions are made several times throughout the year so that operators or journalists can inform in their places of origin of the tourist resources that are available in Lorca, a city always open to the visitor. "

The visit to Lorca began in the Castle of the city, where they were accompanied by a tour guide.

On the way they were able to climb to the border watchtower that is the Torre del Espolón, as well as walk through the walls that give the enclosure a defensive character.

They also visited Muslim reservoirs formerly dedicated to rainwater harvesting.

One of the strengths of the tour was the visit to the Jewish quarter and the Synagogue that is located inside the fortified enclosure of the Castle.

Excavations carried out in recent decades have brought to light the important remains of a Jewish neighborhood, where you can see the remains of the streets and houses, and a XV century synagogue unique in its kind throughout the Peninsula for its good state of conservation, for being the only complete one in which the remains of glass of the lamps that lit it have also appeared, and for never having been converted into a Church.

In addition, and to end their visit, the participants in the 'PressTrip' enjoyed the magnificent pieces exhibited in the embroidery museums of Holy Week in our city, so that they can know another of the differentiating exponents of our tourist and cultural offer.
