Martín: "There will be no mobilizations if the Mayor of Lorca returns today from Murcia with the renewed aid justification protocol" (26/12/2019)

The councilwoman of IU-Greens and spokesperson of the platform affected by the return of earthquake aid has announced that the neighbors are willing to remain patient if all guarantees are given so that on January 25 they begin to close files once and for all

The spokeswoman for the platform affected by the return of aid from earthquakes and IU-Greens councilor, Gloria Martín, announced today that this group will not resume the mobilization if at the meeting scheduled this morning between the Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, and the Minister of Public Works, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, renewed the collaboration agreement related to the processing of the justification reports, so that “the neighbors can avail themselves with all the guarantees to the laws approved in the regional Assembly that simplify the justification of the aid â€.

This is one of the demands posed by those affected, who have already begun to receive the document that guarantees that they have correctly accepted the procedure, and whose shipment was paralyzed since last August.

"The letters are already arriving although they are only signed by the Mayor and not by the Director General of Housing, precisely because of the expiration of the protocol last July," Martin explained.

On behalf of those affected, the councilwoman of IU-Greens has also thanked the effort being made by the notifier staff of the City Council to locate neighbors who have not yet submitted the justification report, whose term ends on January 25 next.

Also to the earthquake office workers who are working morning and afternoon shifts to help neighbors complete the necessary documentation.

On a possible extension that would prolong the uncertainty of those who submitted all the documentation a year and a half ago, the Mayor has informed Martin that it may be necessary "but only for aid related to the communities of neighbors."

In this regard, the mayor has lamented that Fomento remembers that there are 200 neighborhood communities that can benefit from the law, when there is only one month left before it expires.

"We want these neighbors to also be able to present their justification and that is why it seems good to us that in these cases they can have three more months, which is the only possible deadline now," Martín explained.

The point on which there is "no progress" is the file of the 400 files that the Administration itself recognizes that they have prescribed.

"It is something that depends on Development, which is forcing these neighbors to continue with paperwork and paperwork when, by Law, these files must be automatically closed."

Despite this, Martín believes that the part corresponding to the City Council has intensified the work and that it will be possible to arrive on January 25 “with the duties doneâ€.

"The neighbors are willing to continue being patient if all the guarantees are given so that on January 25, files will be closed once and for all," the mayor said.
