The mayor of Lorca receives the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Canarian Government (30/12/2019)

Both have insisted on the possibility of carrying out different actions between both executives on "issues of common interest that may arise, mainly in the tourism and agricultural field".

The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has received, this morning, in the Consistory of Lorca, the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Canarian Government, Alicia Vanoostende.

The Mayor has indicated that "it is a visit that is due to the family ties that unite it with our city and that we wanted to take advantage of to carry out this contact and establish a fluid relationship with the Canary Islands government for all those matters of common interest that could arise between both Communities, either from the point of view of tourism, such as agriculture, which is the area that Alicia Vanoostende is responsible for in the island executive. "

Diego José Mateos has also referred to the possibility of teaching the Canarian Government "everything that Lorca can offer from various points: tourism, cultural, heritage, thus establishing these channels to show our municipality and to have that collaboration between the Canary Islands and Lorca , expandable, of course, to other areas of public-private collaboration. "

For his part, the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Canarian Government, Alicia Vanoostende, said that "it is a pleasure to be here today in Lorca, a city with which I have a close family relationship and that I have often visited for many years".

The Canarian counselor said that "it seemed very interesting to meet the mayor and more now that we both have political responsibilities and also put ourselves from the Canary Islands Government available to the municipality of Lorca, for everything we can do to join forces, since what important are human relations to seek alternatives and new opportunities in tourism and agricultural issues Murcia is an agricultural power, the Canary Islands is also so we have to complement each other and works for that defense of the national sector against the competences of other countries, how much damage they do to us. "

Alicia Vannoostende, of Belgian origin, is an agricultural engineer in the specialty of Agricultural Industries by the Polytechnic University of Valencia, with 10 years of experience in the management of the fruit and vegetable treatment center.

In addition, between the years 2015 and 2019 she was Minister of Tourism of Planning of the Island Council of La Palma, as well as councilor of Los Llamas de Aridane.
