2019 closes in the municipality of Lorca with 170 fewer unemployed, placing the total at 4,516 unemployed (03/01/2020)

The most significant decrease has been registered in Services and Agriculture, where 100 and 80 people found work, respectively;

while the increase over the previous month is found in Industry, with three more unemployed and in Construction, where unemployment has increased by 12 people.

The Councilor for Local Development and Employment of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero has assessed, this morning, unemployment data in the municipality of Lorca for the month of December published by the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF).

The mayor of Employment has detailed that "the month of December closed with 4,516 unemployed in our municipality, 170 less than the previous month of November, which ended with 4,686 people registered in the office that the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) has in Lorca ".

Isabel Casalduero has pointed out that in addition to this decrease of the stop in Lorca with which we have dismissed 2019, "the interannual unemployment also leaves us positive data, since, unlike the month of December 2018, in this year's Lorca account with 315 less unemployed. "

The Councilor for Employment has detailed that "unemployment has fallen in the sectors of Agriculture in which 80 people found a job during the past month, placing unemployment in this sector in the 501 unemployed; in Services unemployment has fallen by 100 people, up to 3,009 unemployed and in the group of people without previous activity has fallen by 5, to 317. On the contrary, there has been a slight increase in the sectors of Industry, with three more unemployed, reaching 378 and in Construction, a sector in which 12 people lost their jobs before the end of 2019, placing the figure at 311 unemployed. "

By age, the local Local Development has reported that "this decline in unemployment has been noticeable in all age groups, but has been more significant among people between 25 and 44, where 113 unemployed found work in December, which It closed with 1,755 unemployed in this age group.The second most important decrease is found among those under 25, with 54 new workers, within an age group that has 359 unemployed in Lorca, and finally among the elderly 45, three people found work last month, with the data standing at 2,402 unemployed. "

The councilor stressed that "they are not bad data, of which we can be relatively satisfied, although we cannot deny that this drop in unemployment is largely due to the Christmas campaign, so we must continue betting, from this team of Government, in the implementation of measures that help to seasonalize employment, as well as to reactivate our economy, in addition to training, employment and promotion of labor incorporation policies to ensure that the number of unemployed in the city is less and less ".
