The PP requires the PSOE to clarify where and how the victims of the earthquakes have to go so that 50% of the IBI is returned (15/01/2020)

More than 44,000 Lorca affected by the earthquakes lost 7.5 million euros in fiscal aid after Pedro Sánchez charged the IBI bonus

The popular demand the implementation of an advisory service in the City Council that begins to process the requests for 50% refund of the IBI

The regional deputy of the Popular Party in the Regional Assembly, María del Carmen Ruiz, has demanded that the PSOE report where and in what way the victims of the earthquakes have to proceed in order to be returned 50% of the IBI they had to pay At the end of last year, after the end of all 2019 without the Socialist governments deigning to approve the Royal Decree that they were being asked for 10 months ago.

They leave more than 44,000 affected who will have to pay 7.5 million euros.

There are many Lorca families who have not been able to pay the IBI, and many others who continue to trust that they will be given back what they have already paid.

We must remember that after a wide series of deceptions, which has lasted for a whole year, they ended up saying, verbatim that "when government is formed and the legislature begins to move, economic resources will be disbursed, including this IBI bonus."

Well, now they have run out of excuses and lies: those affected by the earthquakes want to know where and how they have to go to get 50% of the Property Tax (IBI) that was rewarded until Pedro Sánchez He decided to delete it.

We are forced to remember that in the middle of the electoral campaign they came to tell Lorca to not worry, that the IBI they had paid would be returned to them, and that is what we already demand.

We demand that an information service be launched in the City Council in which those affected can process their requests so that the central government complies with what has been said and returns the IBI money.

It is an issue that is due to those affected.

The Popular Parliamentary Group in the Regional Assembly will present a motion in this regard in the Regional Assembly demanding that the Government of Spain immediately reimburse the victims 7.5 million euros corresponding to 50% of the Property Tax (IBI) ) of the year 2019 that he did not subsidize, and that he keep this aid in 2020. We will also demand that the mechanism for the return be established immediately, just as the current President of the Government of Spain and the socialist political leaders committed to national, regional and local level.

From the PP they have indicated that the victims have had to endure over the last months an extensive list of excuses, one evasive after another, that different socialist leaders have been launching, trusting that leaving people over time I would forget the subject.

But the time has come to put their faces in front of the mirror so that the Lorca people remember the deceptions that we have had to endure for almost a year, when we already began to publicly denounce that the PSOE was going to take away the IBI bonus.

The Popular Party began working from the first day to maintain the 50% bonus of the IBI in 2019. Faced with our proposals and requests, the Socialists responded with their already classic derogatory statements and their bad forms, and assured that this bonus "was a reality".

We raised multiple and continuous claims by way of motions, non-Law proposals in the Congress of Deputies, and initiatives before the Senate and the Regional Assembly, against which they responded by trying to delay their processing and block them.

Unfortunately throughout these months we have endured all kinds of lies.

First they said the bonus was "insured."

Then, that no Law Decree could be passed. When they had already passed more than 40, they said that they were decrees that did not involve spending, and when they approved one for more than 300 million euros for the bankruptcy of a British airline, they put as an excuse that the year was ending.

Everything has been one lie after another.

May 22, PSOE press release: "Faced with the lies and continuing scary stories of the Popular Party. Marisol Sánchez announces the commitment of the Government of Spain to maintain the 50% bonus in the State Budget of the IBI and the 3 million euros for districts ".

June 1: PSOE press release, Isidro Abellán (mayor of the Treasury): "The bonus of 50% of the IBI receipt to those affected by earthquakes is a reality thanks to the commitment of the Government of Spain to Lorca. IBI was not only more than assured, as Lorca deputy Marisol Sánchez advanced after meeting with the acting Minister José Luis Ábalos; it was an inalienable commitment for which we have fought from the PSOE in Lorca, with Diego José Mateos to head".

July 24: PSOE press release "The PSOE requires the PP to stop" stop getting scared with the IBI bonus ".

October 1: Isidro Abellán (mayor of the Treasury): "the Socialist Municipal Group has achieved full commitment to the highest levels, at ministerial levels, that at the time the Government of the Nation was formed, in the first Council of Ministers would approve the Royal Decree Law including the 50 percent bonus of the urban IBI. "

November 8: Pedro Sánchez (rally in Los Alcázares): "As soon as there is a government and the legislature starts, issues such as the approval of the 50% IBI bonus can be carried out."

November 13, Cadena Ser, Diego José Mateos (current mayor): "formulas are being sought to compensate taxpayers. Those alternatives are to offer a refund to those who have paid or reimburse that 50% the following year."

November 14, Diario La Opinión, Isidro Abellán (Councilor for Finance): "When government is formed in Spain and the legislature begins to move, the economic resources for Lorca will be disbursed, including this IBI bonus."
