The PP demands the support of all political parties to demand that the Government of Spain that the Lorca be not excluded from the gratuitousness of the AP-7 (21/01/2020)

The popular will also request that the City Council proceed to the improvement of the so-called Montajú Road, which has a high degree of deterioration, as well as making available to the residents the place acquired for the use of the community groups

The Councilor for Citizen Participation in the City of Lorca by the Popular Party, Mari Huertas García, has informed that this political formation will request in the next plenary session of the Consistory a pronouncement of all the municipal groups to urge the current Government of Spain to agree with immediate approval of the total free AP7 motorway in all sections of its route.

The councilor of the PP has explained that the Ministry of Development has applied with the start of this year the full free of the AP7 motorway in its section between Tarragona and Alicante, whose route has stopped paying tolls since December 31.

This measure, without a doubt positive for the citizens that transit through this route, nevertheless supposes a flagrant case of comparative tort for the other Spaniards who do it for the rest of the sections subject to tolls of the aforementioned infrastructure.

In this sense, information is already circulating that it is also the intention of the Government in functions of the PSOE to extend this free toll fee to the stretch between Tarragona and La Junquera, covering this liberalization to the provinces of Tarragona.

Barcelona and Girona.

However, nothing is commented or announced in relation to the rest of the sections of this great infrastructure that communicates by road more than 1,000 kilometers of the Spanish Mediterranean coast.

For this reason, from the Popular Party we demand that the government of the nation extend the total free of the AP7 highway along its entire route, including also the sections in the provinces of Alicante, Murcia, Almeria, Malaga and Cádiz currently taxed with Toll payment.

In our opinion, it is unacceptable that, being the same highway, no toll is paid if it circulates in Tarragona, Castellón or Valencia, curiously governed by independentist ideology parties - the second and third - but it does have to be done if It travels through a province governed by the Popular Party, as in the cases of Alicante, Murcia, Almeria and Malaga.

The AP7 motorway is one of the infrastructure that has generated the most prosperity, wealth and employment in Spain since it opened its first section there in 1969. However, that progress that the construction of the AP7 led to Catalonia and Valencia, came with almost 40 years of delay to the South of Alicante, to the Region of Murcia, to Almeria and to Malaga, which they saw as their respective sections of this large capacity road took much longer to execute.

For this reason, we cannot allow the same thing to be done now from the current Government of Spain in office, penalizing tolls only and for several decades more to the inhabitants of those provinces who have freely decided at the polls to be governed by a color political different from that of the Central Executive or that of its partners.

The duty of the Government is to ensure that all Spaniards are treated equally, and not discriminated according to whether we live in one or another territory.

The elimination of the toll in the provinces governed by independence and socialism, in contrast to its maintenance in those other governed by the Popular Party, can only be considered as a sign of the worst sectarianism and object of the frontal rejection of those who believe in equality and Freedom of all Spaniards.

Mari Huertas García has also indicated that the Popular Group will demand that the City Council of Lorca urgently carry out the remodeling and improvement of the so-called Montajú Road, given the bad state of the firm, its high traffic and the need to increase the road safety that it presents, and that it completes the necessary arrangements to make available to the neighbors the property acquired for them in this district, within a maximum period of 2 months.

Residents in this district have sent us their request to proceed with the arrangement as soon as possible of this route, given its high use, especially as an exit route for the agricultural productions they cultivate in the district.

We have been able to verify that the state of the firm is frankly deficient, so we support this claim from the inhabitants of Morata.

The City of Lorca, at the initiative of the Popular Party and in response to the demand of the neighbors of the district, acquired a property last year in the deputation of Morata.

An investment of 20,000 euros was made for the elimination of architectural barriers that allowed the firm to be placed at a homogeneous level, at the same time as tasks were carried out to provide it with natural light by opening new windows.

Work was also carried out to repair the toilets, and the stage was extended to welcome the usual neighborhood activities with guarantees.

This City Council, responding to the demand of the neighbors themselves, planned to continue executing new improvements in the electrical installation.

Since last June the battery of arrangements in this property has been paralyzed, a fact that has upset the neighbors, who today are harmed by an incomprehensible inaction, which prevents them from developing the many traditional popular activities In this district.
