Iñaki Tijera and Joxemiel Zendoia, Basque Champions of Land Rally in 2018, already have their saddle ready to face the Rallye Tierras Altas de Lorca, first test of the Spanish Rally Championship of Land (CERT), to be played on days 6 and 7 March 2020.

On this occasion, the chosen frame has been a Peugeot 208 R2 rented from the old generation.

The team will play the first two tests of the championship on board this car until they have in their hands the new Peugeot 208 R2T Rally4, whose arrival is scheduled for the third round of the championship at the Terra da Agua Rally (Galicia).

The car will carry on its body the red and black colors, characteristic of the companies that will support the Basques during the year: MRF Tires will be its main sponsor, since the relationship between the team and the fashion tire brand in competition is on the rise .

Fernando Viadero, responsible for MRF Tires in Spain, has full confidence in the project: "The two-year commitment to this duo is total. The R2 category is very important in Spain and we want to show that our tire is suitable and very valid for this category. "

In addition to MRF Tires, the image of Adidas Motorsport and Mercadoracing also stands out in the car.

The team in charge of managing the rented unit will be Raceseven, which will serve Tijera and Zendoia during all the events of the event.

In this way, from the first race in Murcia, the team will have the necessary means to fight for the top positions in the R2 category, within a very disputed and competitive championship such as the National Land.

The engines will start rolling on Friday 6, when the shakedown dispute, the qualification stage and the show section will take place.

However, the real action will begin early on Saturday morning, with the dispute of all the timed sections.

The objective for the first test is clear: "It is essential to make the first kilometers, adapt to the vehicle. The first race will serve as a test, but we will try to be as high as possible," says Iñaki Tijera.
